Unclobber - Multi Trajectory Forward Looking Terrain Collision Avoidance System
Unclobber is our state-of-the-art multi-trajectory ground collision avoidance system. It is designed for both fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft. It uses a high-precision digital surface model for collision avoidance. This multi-trajectory, forward- looking terrain collision avoidance system is designed for both high- and low-performance aircraft and helicopters. This system keeps the aircraft safe from hitting terrain in all kinds of flight maneuvers.
Unclobber uses present position from sources like INS-GPS and void-filled elevation data to calculate available terrain clearance ahead of aircraft. If a collision is detected in the near future, a safe escape trajectory is calculated and provided to the pilots to execute. The system, with a very low false alarm rate, is also suitable for automatic recovery methods with direct coupling to flight control systems.
