PathFinder is our GPS based helicopter landing aid that assists the aircrew in safe takeoff and landing on the deck of ships. It guides the pilot to locate and approach the moving ship precisely, beyond visual range.
PathFinder, is a robust, light weight, and plug-and-play kind of system that complies with both airborne and shipborne MIL standards and certifications. This heavy-duty, long-lasting, almost low maintenance, and high-degree operationally available system provides an improved operational envelope, safe recovery, and safe landing with high accuracy on the helo-deck of moving ships, even during very rough sea states.
PathFinder efficiently creates a clear flight path and navigates the crew irrespective of the outside inclement weather and poor visibility (night/DVE) conditions.
PATHFINDER is being developed to assist the pilot with:
- Guides the pilot from minimum 15 kms to settle on safe approach path.
- Capable of operating from both ashore and onboard ships in both day and night.
- Works efficiently in GPS(NAVSTAR) denied environment.
- Precision in approach and landing of sea state of 5 without degradation of glideslope, range and bearing information accuracy.
- Provides accurate glideslope, range and direction data, agnostic of the deck motion from approach commencing from six kms from helo deck at sea state upto 5.
- System is robust, light weight, compact like plug and play with aircraft supply and support and comply MIL standards of ship borne equipment, and power supply.
- Provides integration and certification of all airborne/shipborne system and UET (universal environmental technologies)
- Operate simultaneous operations of minimum three helo-ship combinations in near proximity, without interface.
