Our fighter pilots fly complex aircraft and more complex missions. These pilots must always be aware of the external situations - threats, for example - as well as the internal status of aircraft systems and options to deal with faulty components. With increase in size of combat area from few Sq. km to 1000s of Sq. Km the situation space has increased manifold and so has the cognitive load on the pilot.
